OLIGARCHS ARE UNDER ATTACK: COURTS WITH FORMER PARTNERS, WIFES AND NEWSPAPERS

The current management of PJSC Promsvyazbank achieved that the Meshchansky District Court of Moscow recognized the prenuptial contract made between Alexei Ananiev and Daria Ananieva as invalid. The credit organization’s lawyers stated at the court hearing that the disputed agreement had been signed after 29 years of marriage and just two months before introduction of temporary administration at PJSC Promsvyazbank. The claimants alleged that the contract only served to conceal the property of Mr. Ananyev from recovery by creditors. Under the terms of the contract Daria Ananieva received 5299 paintings in the style of socialist realism, 50% of the Technoserv Group’s shares, 50% of the authorized capital of the Dutch Technoserv B.V., as well as 1000 shares of the Cypriot Bloumer and 11 000 shares of the Cypriot Skibren. Furthermore, she received title to real property in Moscow, Austria and Portugal. The representative of Mr.Ananyev, the partner of the Law Firm “Kovalev, Tugushi & Partners”, Dmitry Tugushi stated that PJSC Promsvyazbank was not entitled to claim termination of the contract between third parties since the Bank was not the creditor of the defendant. However, the court upheld the applicant's claim, but refused to transfer the assets back to joint ownership.
